Francis Amar

After starting his professional career with adult training in Denmark, Francis joined the International Committee of the Red Cross in 1973.

Dedicated to helping victims of armed conflicts, he carried out many field assignments in countries as diverse as Pakistan, Chile, Thailand, Chad, Angola or Romania, among many others. He was increasingly given bigger managerial and operational responsabilities, as well as overall executive supervision at HQ, and progressively acquired proven top-management skills through more than thirty years of a challenging career.

Running large teams of collaborators led him to master numerous aspects of Human Resources management: recruitment, training, leadership, performance appraisal. He also acquired a solid know-how in the implementation of change-processes, conflict mediation as well as in other important management fields, such as Finance and Administration.

At the end of 2005 he chose to dedicate himself entirely to new professional activities in the field of Human Resources as an independant consultant.

Convinced that progress can only be achieved by challenging one’s own competences and through a continuous learning process, he his fully engaged in a complementary training curriculum in the field of personal development.

An IDC Certified Professional Coach (ICF - Eduqua accredited training) since 2007, he also intervenes as a supervisor of experienced coaches. He has graduated as a “Master Coach” in Leadership and Communication at the beginning of 2010.

Having acquired as of today an experience of over 1300 hours of professional coaching he has obtained in June of 2013 his «PCC» certification from the International Coach Federation. He has been certified as an «Appreciative Inquiry Practitioner» in December of that same year by the French Federation of Appreciative Inquiry (IFAI).

Francis Amar has become a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), of the Société Romande de Coaching (SR Coach) as well as of the Association “Coach for Peace” immediately after his graduation in 2007. In 2009 he has accepted a mandate from the “Hiroshima Peacebuilders Center” (HPC) in Japan to become a Coach/Mentor referee for its Senior Program Associates.

He has been appointed one of three members of the «Bureau de l’Amiable Compositeur» (Mediator) in September 2014 by the State Council of Geneva.
